Sofia strives to improve the lives of others through sustainable design.

Sofia Villalta is an Architectural Intern at STUDIOAXIS, putting her four years of education into her work. She currently studies at Ball State University and is pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture with a Minor in Social and Environmental Justice. Since her second year at Ball State, she has been a member of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS), improving her networking abilities and connections. With the knowledge she has gained from her studies, Sofia is cultivating many design skills while improving her teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills in the studio.

Sofia’s love for art, math, travel, and culture is what cultivated how she views architecture. She has a design approach that strives to connect people within a built environment, and better the lives of whoever inhabits these spaces. Her belief is that the needs of people should always be at the center of design and that sustainable practices can create better opportunities for people to find community.

With this being her first internship, Sofia is eager to broaden her knowledge and be a part of a firm that is making an impact in the built environment.

With a natural eye for design and communication, Addie’s work is centered around a deep passion for combining creativity with strategic thinking.

Addie Elsener is a Marketing Intern at Studio Axis. With 3 years of elaborate learning and use of design platforms, Addie has gained many design skills. Addie attends Marian University, in Indianapolis, where she is pursuing a degree in Marketing and Graphic Design. Through her studies, Addie is developing advanced design skills and honoring her communication techniques, which allow her to create visually compelling and effective marketing materials. Addie’s academic journey has given her the tools to deliver impactful design solutions that respond with audiences.

Addie has prior internship experience at Roche Diagnostics, where she interned in Molecular Diagnostic Marketing, which gained her loads of experience in content marketing, video creation, interior design, and communication. Addie also interned at Spot Freight, Inc., where she was in charge of customer contracting. During these past internships, Addie collected the skills to learn and adapt quickly.

Addie’s love for design, communication, technology, traveling, and learning, aid her to bring a unique perspective to the studio. Addie’s current education and practice in school also aids her technological advancement while learning new design principles.
