BMC Software Headquarters Campus
A dynamic headquarters campus for suburban Houston, the BMC Software Headquarters Campus optimizes the wellbeing and productivity of office workers and is informed by BMC’s core values of collaboration, inclusiveness, and innovation by creating the world’s leading Autonomous Digital Enterprise.
Developed over four phases, the design acknowledges and represents the complexities of the site with one side facing the low-rise residential community, the other one of the city’s transportation arteries, the Sam Houston Tollway. Unlike the more classical symmetry of the building’s predecessors, the four-building campus with its multiple facades and volumes of the site permit a dialogue with the context in a modern language that is at once formal and informal.
The 28-acre site is developed as an amenity for its workers, with planted gardens and jogging and walking trails creating dynamic spaces for work and recreation. The form of the campus features a series of interconnected outdoor spaces that connect the towers reaching out in a welcoming gesture. Typical office spaces are located in the towers and are flexible to allow for departmental change and reorganization. Common spaces are distributed along the entry level of the complex, with flexible, deep taller volumes for building lobbies and indoor sports courts. Employee amenities, including a cafeteria and fitness center, engage the landscaped setting.
