EEC Livable Smart City Masterplan
Located along the Gulf of Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard, the EEC Livable Smart City is positioned as a gateway to Southeast Asia. The 10,000-hectare new city is a model for future, livable and sustainable smart city-scale developments across the globe.
The EEC Livable Smart City includes a diverse array of programmatic elements and is conceived as a pedestrian friendly city, with walkable streets, 60 percent green space and an urban density that promotes an active street life. The residential neighborhoods have large green areas, with below grade parking. A 64-hectare central park is woven into the center of the city’s rich urban fabric, while a network of natural waterways connects across the city’s twelve districts. The design sets a new standard in livability, sustainability, and smart technologies with innovative approaches to building performance, green infrastructure, public transportation, and community planning.
The new city provides for various types of residential environments including private villas, low-rise low-density housing, high-rise high-density housing, and hybrid models. Along with offices, government facilities, a convention center and a retail waterfront market, additional districts include a healthcare hub, a research & development hub, a start-up community and a world class sports complex capable of hosting the Olympic games.
