Rhythm Quest Danga Bay

The design for Rhythm Quest creates a narrow waterfront icon along the shoreline of Johor Bahru’s Danga Bay. The building respects views from the Istana Bukit Serene Royal Palace towards Singapore by developing a triangular building form minimizing the view impact from the Royal Palace. The triangular form contains a boutique hotel and luxury residential and is skillfully integrated into an undulating landscaped landform at the base housing the convention center providing views towards Danga Bay and to Singapore beyond.

The uniqueness of the tower lies within the monolithic form; the inner mass of the building has been carved into at the building’s lower register along Simpanan Jalan and at the top towards Danga Bay creating two 70-story internal atriums that provide for cross ventilation through each unit of the building. This breathable skin will create a clean and energy efficient tower exceeding today’s environmental standards. A series of vertical sky gardens create dynamic programmatic elements in the sky, provide daylight and ventilation into the atriums, with uninhibited views along the Danga Bay coastline.
