Tangoe
Interaction and collaboration, that’s what Tangoe is all about. This tech startup offers cloud-based software for mobile devices so companies can manage all of their employees’ devices in an efficient, centralized way. With more than 300 employees at its Indianapolis office, the space had to celebrate Tangoe’s quirky, casual culture.
For this 60,000-square-foot office, Axis paired the founder’s love for rustic aesthetics with clean lines and funky textures. Instead of cubicles, it has low walls. The space is also interactive; it features a LEGO wall, and an employee-curated gallery of Instagram-worthy photography. There’s a movie theater, too, and the communal kitchen serves complimentary craft beer during the last hour of the workday.
The layout also includes soundproof phone booths, a reception area with a fireplace, and conference rooms named after Star Wars characters. The result is an eclectic space that has been instrumental in making Tangoe one of the top tech companies to work for in the Midwest. And in 2017, it received both the Economical Design and Best in Show IDEA awards from the International Interior Design Association. The budget? Only $40 per square foot.
