Tianjin EcoCity

Tianjin EcoCity located along Tianjin’s Bohai Bay takes cues from the idyllic setting itself – the welcoming Bohai Wan, the gently rising mountains to the north, the neighboring residential developments, and the experience of driving along Tianjin’s coastal highway.

Consisting of multiple towers in a lushly landscaped park setting, Tianjin EcoCity is part of a larger planned development covering 30 square kilometers that will house a population of over 350,000 residents. The development is surrounded by a robust commercial center, the National Animation Park, a business park, the Qingtuozi Leisure Center and includes retail, hospitals, schools, and entertainment districts to support the local population.

The balanced and harmonious composition of the towers creates a memorable presence on the Tianjin skyline. To create a sense of place in the midst of major highways and railway tracks while contrasting the mega blocks surrounding the project, the site is broken into finely grained building blocks that are interwoven with series of small gardens and varied public spaces. Pedestrian walkways, passages, and plazas create a vibrant pedestrian flow.
