Tongzhou Tower
The centerpiece of Tongzhou’s New Town Core Area, the mixed-use, landmark Tongzhou Tower embodies the city’s wealth of culture, dramatic topography, and inspired by Chinese mythologies most revered symbol, ‘The Dragon’.
The 400-meter tall Tongzhou Tower, inspired by the Hua Biao (Chinese Totem Pole) is an elegant form reminiscent of the Dragon ascending the Hua Biao. The tower makes a bold gesture by creating a “Spiraling Green Tower” through its double helix structure. The “Sky Gardens” spiral upward to provide views over the city and to increase the ventilation effectiveness and indoor air quality of the tower. The skin of the tower has a direct relationship to the double helix structure further enhancing the texture and scale of the Dragon’s Skin. The tower contains office, residential and hotel uses with a winter garden at the top of the tower acting as a lantern that can be seen for miles.
Along the base of the tower, the curved bar building houses luxury residential in a series of two-, and three-bedroom units that open towards the Tonghui River. The space created by the curving residential and a retail shopping street at the base of the tower is a series of private villas overlooking a pedestrian park situated along the waterfront.
