Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) Aerodynamics Research Institute
Located in Northern China, the AVIC Aerodynamic Research Institute is an industrial campus housing China’s largest subsonic wind tunnels designed to test aerodynamic wind flow criteria for the Chinese Air Force.
The AVIC Aerodynamics Research Institute is a corporate, institutional, and industrial campus on a 39.6-hectare site that will serve AVIC’s future growth. Designed as a campus in the park, the Master Plan provides opportunities for future growth, connectivity across the districts, will foster creativity and innovation, with site amenities that rival a Class-A Corporate Headquarters. Opportunities for greater employee engagement and a vision to be carbon neutral make this campus a world-class environmental showcase for industrial campuses globally.
The Master Plan creates a campus precinct to promote connectivity across the site enabling its inhabitants to move continuously across the districts. The Master Plan has been designed to accommodate three distinct phases of construction. Phase 1 includes the Office & Research Center, the Hotel and Convention Center, Residential, and the Laboratory Facilities. Phase 2 contains the Industrial Development District, the Innovation Center and the Fitness Center located with direct connectivity to the “Meandering Road”. Phase 3 contains the remaining facilities of the Laboratory District and will complete the Master Plan. Phases 2 & 3 are located along the site’s perimeter allowing for future construction to occur without impacting the site or the ability for future expansion.
