Bangkok Terminal
The Bangkok Terminal Multi-Modal Transit Center is a mixed-use TOD Development located across from Chatuchak Park, the largest park in Thailand. The project will bring a 24/7 lifestyle ecosystem to Bangkok’s Chatuchak District, creating a foundation for transit connectivity.
The Bangkok Terminal will positively impact the transportation connectivity by creating the country’s first intermodal transportation center connecting the above grade BTS System’s Mo Chit Station and the below grade MRT System’s Chatuchak Park Station together with a new Intercity Bus Terminal serving the provinces throughout Thailand. By connecting the BTS and the MRT systems, providing an Intercity Bus Terminal and 712,000 M² of commercial and residential development, the Bangkok Terminal will be Thailand’s first TOD Development.
The architecture was developed with respect to solar orientation of the site respecting views to the Chatuchak Park. The floor to ceiling high performance glazed curtainwalls have incorporated a fine vertical trellis solar shading system to alleviate the harsh east and west solar exposures while maintain views to the park and the surrounding context. This fine vertical trellis creates an ethereal lightness across the development softening the building’s surfaces against the sky.
