Lotus’s North Ratchapruek Lifestyle Center

Lotus’s North Ratchapruek Lifestyle Center provides a unique place for gathering, generating an energy that will attract Thai residents and visitors from across Bangkok. A new generation of outdoor lifestyle centers, Lotus’s extends this tradition to Nonthaburi to create a sense of place in this suburb of Bangkok.

Located on North Ratchapruek approximately 10 kilometers north of Bangkok, Lotus’s Lifestyle Center is a vibrant, outdoor lifestyle retail center that provides several retail activities to create a real sense of community. The new lifestyle district, which comprises outdoor retail, a Lotus’s Store, a gourmet food court, and space for cultural functions to occur, is knit together with public space, gardens and covered by an operable roof trellis that can provide shelter during inclement weather. The architectural diversity of the site emulates the varied program elements, while the use of glass and metal finishes provides a rich materiality.

Retail stores, performance and entertainment areas, and restaurants comprise the lifestyle center, which focus around the outdoor open space to create a lush green environment. This feature serves as a venue for cultural events and is programmed with an LED screen that serves as a backdrop to the central open space. Targeting a LEED Gold rating, the design for Lotus’s Lifestyle Center integrates sustainability through both passive and active elements, including extensive energy efficient technologies and renewable resources.
