Samsung Aerospace Advanced Park Masterplan
The site for Samsung Aerospace, located adjacent to the Sacheon Airport envisions a master plan for the R & D, Manufacturing and Assembly for Korea’s largest Chaebol responsible for 17% of the Korean economy.
Samsung Aerospace currently manufactures fighter jets for the Korean Air Force. The vision of the late chairman was to move the company forward by building commercial aircraft and the master plan of the 225-hectare campus will materialize over multiple phases to accommodate more than 20,000 employees and a full range of facilities: spaces for research & development, hangars for the manufacturing & assembly of narrow body aircraft, manufacturing and assembly for fighter aircraft, paint shops, an aerospace museum, an aerospace training center, housing, athletic fields, and amenities. These specialized facilities converge around a dynamic series of outdoor space to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and engender a strong sense of community. Samsung Aerospace will provide an inspirational environment for engineers, faculty, and staff to live, work and play, establishing a world-leading standard in manufacturing for future industries and campuses across Korea.
The campus features exemplary sustainability and resiliency measures, attuned to the site within the rapidly developing, coastal region of Korea and an area of the world that will witness some of the greatest climate change impact.
