Thailand High Speed Rail – Pattaya Station
One of the largest infrastructure projects to occur in Thailand, the Thailand High Speed Rail will connect to Thailand’s three major international airports. Connecting along the eastern seaboard of the Gulf of Thailand, the 194-kilometer-long Bangkok – Rayong alignment is the 1st phase in a multi-phase, multi-year project.
The Thailand High Speed Rail will connect Bangkok’s Don Muang International Airport, through to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport to the future U-Tapao International Airport located in Rayong. Including the airport destinations, there are a total of 10 stations that will occur along the 194-kilometer alignment including a station at Pattaya – one of Thailand’s seaside resorts.
The HSR Pattaya Station was inspired by the indigenous ancient architecture of Thailand, known for the extravagant roof forms that can be found in temples throughout the country. The roof form of the Pattaya Station rises to a height of 70 meters and gently tapers down over the length of the 270-meter-long platform reminiscent of the gently sloping mountains that surround Pattaya and the eastern seaboard of Thailand.
