Envision Energy Headquarters
Envision is a global leader in advancing energy solutions to meet the challenges of a net zero future. The vision for their new Headquarters & Assembly Facility was designed using the wind’s movement to create the brand identity for Envision.
Envision is a world leader producing wind turbines globally to support China’s progressive Green Energy initiative. The 3,400 M² Headquarters Building is located adjacent to the 6,000 M² Assembly Facility where assembly of the rotor component of the wind turbine occurs. The Headquarters’ houses engineers and the Executives while providing display and educational facilities informing customers of the importance of a net zero future. The building includes a canteen, a sports & fitness center, and a Spirit Lounge designed to foster collaboration and rejuvenation.
The wind’s energy and movement is the vision behind the building’s massing, exterior skin, and atrium. The wind’s movements have an adverse effect on the massing shearing the single glass volume into disparate parts that have slipped against one another along the longitudinal axis. This movement creates a cantilever over the main entrance to the north while revealing a roof terrace to the south. The building’s exterior skin reinforces wind movement flowing around the “Envision Eye” that is the monitoring control room for Envision’s wind turbines globally while connecting the headquarters and the factory building allowing free movement between the two structures.
